We use the gentlest effective preservatives possible to keep products safe and stable (especially in water-based formulas like serums and gels).

Some of our products (notably the Eye Clarity Gel) include trace amounts of phenoxyethanol (under 1%) — a widely accepted preservative in cosmetic use. Regulatory bodies (FDA, EU, CIR) consider it safe at these levels, with no established link to endocrine disruption in typical skincare concentrations.

1. Are Lumina Veil products safe for sensitive skin?

Yes. Every formula in the Radiance Ritual is designed with sensitive skin in mind. We avoid common irritants including parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances, and phthalates. Our Contour Serum uses a peptide complex (Matrixyl 3000®) rather than retinol, making it suitable for skin that can't tolerate traditional anti-aging actives.

2. Are your products safe during cancer treatment or recovery?

We formulated the Radiance Ritual specifically for people whose skin has been through significant stress, including cancer treatment. Our products contain no retinol, no harsh exfoliants at high concentrations, and no known carcinogens. However, we always recommend consulting your oncologist or dermatologist before introducing new skincare during active treatment.

3. Are Lumina Veil products safe for people with autoimmune conditions like MS or lupus?

Our formulas are free from common triggers and use gentle, clinically studied ingredients. We avoid retinol, high-concentration acids, and synthetic fragrances that can aggravate sensitive or reactive skin. As with any skincare, we recommend patch testing and consulting your physician if you have specific concerns.

4. Do your products contain retinol?

No. None of the five products in the Radiance Ritual contain retinol. Our Contour Serum uses Matrixyl 3000® and a peptide complex as a gentle, effective alternative — delivering firming and line-smoothing benefits without the irritation retinol often causes.

5. Are Lumina Veil products cruelty-free and vegan?

Yes, completely. We never test on animals and use no animal-derived ingredients. Every formula is 100% vegan and cruelty-free.

6. What preservatives do you use and are they safe?

We use phenoxyethanol (under 1%) and ethylhexylglycerin in some formulas — both are widely accepted, gentle preservatives approved by the FDA, EU, and CIR. We avoid parabens entirely. Preservatives are necessary in water-based formulas to prevent bacterial growth and keep products safe to use.

7. Are your products safe to use during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

Our formulas are free from the most common skincare allergens including synthetic fragrances, parabens, sulfates, and phthalates. Some products contain botanical extracts (such as Jasminum Sambac and Citrus Paradisi Peel Oil) which may cause reactions in individuals with specific plant allergies. 11. How do I know which products are right for my skin concerns?

The Radiance Ritual is designed as a complete 5-step system that addresses the most common skin concerns simultaneously: dullness, dark spots, puffiness, loss of firmness, and fine lines. 12. What is Matrixyl 3000® and why do you use it instead of retinol?

Matrixyl 3000® is a clinically studied peptide complex (Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1 + Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7) that stimulates collagen synthesis and reduces the appearance of deep wrinkles. Yes. Our brightening actives (Kojic Acid, Stable Vitamin C, Alpha-Arbutin) are safe and effective across all skin tones. They work by inhibiting melanin overproduction rather than bleaching, making them appropriate for deeper skin tones where hyperpigmentation is often more pronounced.

17. How should I store my Lumina Veil products?

Store all products in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Avoid leaving them in humid environments like steamy bathrooms where possible. Most formulas have a shelf life of 12 months after opening — look for the open jar symbol on the packaging for the PAO (Period After Opening) date.

18. What if I have a reaction to one of your products?
